Gumshara Ramen

I have been meaning to visit this little ramen shop for quite some time actually. It's called "Gumshara Ramen" and i found it via a blog post from "Grab your fork" after i read her post i for some reason felt that i just had to visit that shop one day.

It's located in a food court called the "Eating world", in Chinatown at the top of the hill. Because it is situated in a food court i never found a dull enough of a moment to have a casual meal in a food court. I usually prefer cafe's of restaurants mainly because it's just a lot more quite and gives you a lot more privacy. But today was a bit different.

The ramen.. well it actually was pretty good! The soup just as we were warned was extra thick! I would almost say they just slopped on a very thin type of sauce. But still very tasty! Thankfully i didn't eat anything before this and so i did manage to finish but I'm not too sure if i could if i hadn't skipped breakkie.

I ended up getting no.1 which was a pork bowl (quick an easy) and Nat got no.2 I have no idea what the difference was other than mine had alot more pork than hers. The pork was good, nice and tender. Not too much fat and never too much lean meat. I like that in my meats despite how much saturated fat is contained in one slice of meat.

In the end it was a good feed, would go there again one day on another casual day out and in the mood for ramen.

  2. GYF has made a nice translation of a list of the top 15 ramen shops in Sydney from a Japanese mag. Check it out!

It's pretty old, so i do wonder if any of those shops have closed.
