This is my pet bird Eva. It's about 2 years old now and sometimes the cutest thing ever. We have has Eva since she was 2 weeks old just before her baby feathers grew out. It has had its wings clip since young and doesn't know how to fly. Might sound sad, but its the safest way.
It likes to mimic me and Susanne in many ways to a point where it can say words like hello, how are you, Eva up, you're cute!, yup and it can also wolf whistle and make other silly noises that we taught it. The wolf whistle is the best, its gotten to the point where we do it so much that the neighbors are starting to get into it. We have managed to teach it to 'step up' and sometimes 'perch' which is to step down. I like to believe it actually understands these commands but sometimes because it's a cheeky little thing it chooses to disobey.
For a while now Eva has been scratching her bottom every now and then but just recently it has gotten quite bad. We have been trying to give it this solution to rid of worms in her tummy, we may not have been diligent in giving it to her (cause she hates it). So today we bit the bullet and took her to the vet.Turns out Eva is a he! Bwahaha. This whole time because of its name Eva we just assumed it was a female. Anyway Eva he... has been scratching his bottom not because of worms but because... Well he ain't scratching his bottom at all.
Eva has hit puberty and it's egg laying season. Eva is just one horny bird, trying to grab a hold of anything and rub its naughty bits on it to get a kick out of it. This is bad, having your bird masturbate on the perch, finger, floor or anything in fact promotes bad social behavior. According to the vet we have to be stern and tell Eva that doing that is not right and we are not his mating partners cause that's how he see's us right now.
So other than the fact we have to not approve of Eva's hornyness, Eva is a bit over weight at 110grams. I'm a bit edgy about this but apparently we have to get it to fly a bit as a form of exercise, I hope it wont become a habit and Eva one day flies away.
She, no I mean he also has a yeast infection too! lol, that's ok though the medication the vet gave me, Eva seems to like it so it wont be too hard to give it to her.
