Kevin's x100

This thing is just so retro!
Pure hipster style!

First time ever seeing one of these in person, probably because it's not available in Australia yet but I'm not too sure. The build quality was just amazing all the dials had very smooth and soft clicks. Although the dials and the back of it was just a bit noisy and also it is a bit of a strange shape, especially when using the viewfinder you find your hands in an awkward position.

I have to say while there are just so many positive traits to the x100 which makes me a huge fan, I don't think I would ever want one.

Not my thing but I do appreciate it.

Villawood Kartatack.

Last week on Spreets there was this deal on $39 dollars for 30 mins of go karting at Kartatack in Sydney. Clifton being the sportivo car nut was quick on the gun and easily convinced a bunch of us to buy the coupons. As keen as we all were especially Cliffy we decided on the next coming Monday night!

Bam! And this is the super fun tight indoor track!
From when I start my lap from the last corner onto the straight, it's pedal to the medal and a long sweeping left hander, foot all the way down even up until the banked left hand corner, take the racing line or else you'll nudge the wall on the right. Keep the foot down though the tunnel, ease off the gas just a bit or else you would smash into the wall in the next left hander (it happened alot to the other guys). The next hairpin was quite tricky as there's loads of room and coming out of the tunnel it really never straightens up
, so take it as wide as you can then flat foot it through the next 2 right handers. Hard on the brakes tried not too lock up and took it as wide as I could but the tun as soo fast and sharp if you were too early on the gas you would spin out. After tha
t is a sweeping left and a hairpin left. Another right hander hairpin then bam! Right into another left hairpin, this section was tricky it was the only section of the track where I modulated the gas. Exit out of that corner and then back onto the straight!
Even thought we got a huge 50% off retail price we all still had to pay a $9 to get a licence for their company. Kind of a scam but at the same time it's for them to control the hoons and there was a pretty big board behind the counter with all the "Ban
ned" drivers, lol!

9 Drivers! 7 guys 2 girls.

Cause we got there relatively late we got 2 x 15minute sessions as opposed to 3 x 10minute sessions. Quite hilarious as the group behind us had this o
ne girl who was so super slow we all though she was trolling all of us, pretty sure the marshall could of walked the track at her speed (No joke).
Then when it came to our turn the marshall questioned whether they would be fast or not and just automatically assumed they would be super slow. Surprisingly Mavis, one girl was quite fast on the second session.
With all that said our first session was super dirty. Ray with no warm up lap, all the guys cutting everyone off, smashing into the back of people at every hairpin, oh the hilarity!
Still feeling the buzz from karting me and Will felt peckish and hit the oh so infamous viet bread roll shop in Cabramatta open 24/7. This place is so good, seriously where else can you get a pork roll from at 11pm.

PS. Quite enjoying long exposure shots. And you learn from all your mistakes!

Rumours.

It's amazing how people talk, how it's spread and how it is heard and interpreted. I'm currently not too sure on how to react to things. I'm confused on whether I'm surprised or not. I'm surprised on the topic but at the same time I'm not because everyone loves this topic. I'm surprised at the people who talk, but again I'm not because who else would talk about such things about me.

So there are these rumours that have spread about me, they're not necessarily true, as it is an opinion. These rumours or should I say rumour as it is only one (well I kind of hope it's only one!) is quite racy/raunchy which is why I'm quite surprised at its appearance.

Long story short, this rumour goes in my favour and a big ego booster for sure! Big lols all round and I'm really curious on just how many people knew/know about this.

But at the same time I don't want to know because in reality it changes nothing big ego or not. Opinions are based on your own personal views and perceptions and nothing more. It's best not to take other peoples opinions and make it your's until you see for yourself. (Pun totally not intended, but it doesn't matter as I hope you the reader does not know of its context, lol!)

I wonder what else others say about me behind my back...... lol

Snow 2011

So this is the basic rundown of my snow trips through the eyes of the gopro.
Me and V-man having a run down the short course.

Going down the black run "Kamakazi"

This video just show how bad the weather was in our first few days there. Also shows V-man and Wazz having a small biff. lols.

So our first few days there wasn't too good at all. It was almost a
complete white out, the snow hurts your face. Putting chains on my car was interesting but by the week was over I got pretty darn efficient at getting them on and off. My first experience at snowboarding was terrible, it got to the point where I got terrible anxiety at getting up to go down the mountain cause I would only go a few meters before I fall down hard again. So all it took was one day of snowboarding and I gave up and switch to skis
. Wise decision
that was, I just wasn't having fun on the board and skiing just felt natural.

Monday to Wednesday was terrible weather. The worst can be illustrated with the conditions of our cars at the end of the day.
Iced all over and almost a complete white out!

Snow and ice just blanketed my windows, needed a good scrapping to get that off

Does give for cool frozen mazda badges though. lol

Negative four in the morning!!

Having 6 guys and 1 girl in a room made for 2 was quite interesting and surprising not terrible. The power did short circuit once because I think we did have any electrical appliance on at that time. But other than that it was pretty good. Food was decent, it wasn't just instant noodles every night. Steaks one night and the second, noodles another night, sweet potato somewhere and mash. Good hot English breakkie in the mornings, so nothing to complain about.

It was a pretty good trip, all under a grand i think (still gotta sort out payments will fuel and all). So it was pretty cheap the only thing that hit us hard was the lift tickets $519 for 5 daysat perisher. ARGH!

Cosplaying motorsports.

So whilst on tumblr I spotted this.

Being a super nerdy Neon Genesis Evangelion fan I just had to find out more about that bike!!

Turns out that in Japan's racing circuit there's a lot of manga sponsored teams out there. It works out just the same as any other sponsorship in motorsports but the end product for these sponsorships is cosplaying drivers, cars, bikes and showgirls. Super rad!

It's a Kawasaki Ninja sx-10R (with close to 1000cc !!) underneath, eva unit 1 paintjob and modded for endurance racing. Not too sure how well their team went in the Suzuka 8hr enduro but this bike is so rad!

Much nostalgia had while googling this, I'm so surprised that eva is still going strong despite its finale years ago, almost a decade I think!

SNOW!!! NOW!

So, this blog has loads to catch up on but here is what's happening in the meantime.

With about 450kms to cover it should roughly take about 5-6 hours. I hope for a safe trip. Putting on the chains on my car for the first time should be interesting, 2 cars, 7 people, tunes for the road and lots of laughs should get us though. .

With 5 days ahead of us and about half a meter of snow on the mountains this year I'm stocked! First time snowboarding and to be honest I'm a bit edgy about that but I am getting lessons and if all else fails I can always switch the hired gear to ski's.

Accommodation's been booked, the roads have been mapped out now we just got to wait. Hopefully loads of pictures to come and all I can do now is hope that the school holiday kiddies don't affect me too much.
